When we started our consultancy in 1998, it was partly out of frustration. In senior positions working for a variety of retailers, we wanted sensible discussions and help with retail issues from people who understood exactly what our problems were. Unable to find a truly independent consultancy, we worked through the issues ourselves. As we learnt what to do or what not to do, we realised we could help others experiencing similar pain.

We are not a team who believe that retail is only theory and strategy. We believe that retail is one of the most challenging and exciting industries on the planet and is all about rolling your sleeves up and making it happen. That’s why we enjoy our work so much.

Unlike other consultancies operating in our field, we are completely independent. We don’t believe in forming partnerships with software vendors and other consulting groups. Any organisation that has a commercial agreement (either stated or covert) can’t really provide truly impartial advice.

Although we do keep up to date with what is happening in the industry and regularly hold meetings with all the main software vendors, we never enter into commercial agreements with them. The vendors appreciate our independence and confidentiality and are usually more open with us than many of our competitors.

We believe in transparency: with us there is no hidden agenda.
